The Lions Club of Krugersdorp was proudly chartered 1962. Our monthly business meetings are held every third Saturday at 14h00 at the Krugersdorp Xhosa Sports Club (108 Fredrick Cooper Drive, Monument, Krugersdorp, 1739)
Our members are all volunteers who strive to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. Lions have 8 Global Causes which we are continuously working on. They are Childhood cancer, Diabetes, Disaster relief, Environment, Humanitarian, Hunger, Vision and Youth. But as individual clubs we support our local communities in any way we can. Our annual projects include – but are not limited to: food collections, diabetic testing, the Xhosa Night Race also for the physically impaired, a Spring Concert for the old age homes in our community, the delivery of teddy bears and soft toys to children who need comfort during legal proceedings. Our fund raising projects are a Dog show in May, a BOOGIE evening around August, we also have a Leeu loop in September which is a 8km walk for the whole family to just have some fun, while we raise money to fund other projects
We have a few projects in our Zone, where clubs come together to have a much larger impact across a few communities on the same day. We do the Buddy Day in April which is focused on people with disabilities just having a bit of fund.
Lions Clubs International is over 100 years old and is the largest service organisation in the world.
